Quick tutorials:

• Reopening the case, adding the case number and amendment checkbox

• Strikethru, bold/italic/underline, and removing Items in bulk

• Regenerate schedules & compile documents

This guide walks you through preparing an amended petition in Glade — marking the case as amended, using strikethrough, bold/italic/underline, and "omit from petition" to show what changed on each schedule, and then generating and compiling the PDFs you need for filing.

Overview

When you amend a filed case, the court needs to see exactly what changed. Glade lets you mark the whole case as amended in one place, format individual creditors, property, and other list items so the changes show up on the generated PDF forms, and then regenerate only the forms you're amending.

Step 1: Open the petition and mark it as amended

  1. Open the Bankruptcy Schedules: Go to the case and open the Bankruptcy Schedules questionnaire.

  2. Click Edit Questionnaire.

  3. Enter the case number: Add the case number assigned by the court.

  4. Check "Amended filing."

Glade fills in the case number and marks the filing as amended on every form in the case — you don't need to update each schedule one by one.

Step 2: Format the items that changed

You can format one item or many at once. To select several items in a list (such as creditors or property), click the first one, hold Shift, and click the last one to select everything in between.

Strike through removed items

  1. Select the items you want to strike through (for example, creditors).

  2. At the bottom of the list, click Edit → Amend → Strikethrough.

  3. The items now show as struck through in the list. Open the related form (for example, Schedule D) and view the PDF — the same items appear struck through.

Bold, italicize, and underline new or changed items

Use this to highlight anything you added or changed — for example, a bank account left off the original filing.

  1. Add the item if needed. For example, in the property list, click Add item, enter the missing bank account, set who owns it (such as "Spouse only"), and click Done.

  2. Select the item.

  3. Click Edit → Amend → Bold, italicize, and underline.

  4. View the PDF — the item now appears bold, italicized, and underlined (for example, as line 17.3 on Schedule A/B).

Omit items from the petition

Use this when items shouldn't appear on the amended forms at all.

  1. Select the items you want to leave off — for example, every creditor except the one that should remain.

  2. Click Omit from petition and set it to true.

  3. The items are hidden from the petition. The list shows how many duplicates and closed accounts it contains, and you can show those again at any time.

  4. View the PDF — omitted items won't appear on the form. For example, if you omit every Schedule D creditor, Schedule D will show none.

Step 3: Generate and compile the PDF for filing

Once your changes are made, you only need to regenerate the forms you're amending — not the whole petition.

Regenerate a single form

  1. Open the form's PDF preview: For example, open the preview for Schedule A/B.

  2. Click Generate PDF.

  3. Wait for the job to finish: The bell icon on the left side of the screen spins while Glade generates the PDF.

  4. View the new PDF: When it finishes, click the bell to open the newly generated form and confirm your changes are there (for example, the new bank account on line 17).

Compile it with other documents

If your amendment filing needs more than one document, combine them into a single file.

  1. Select the documents: In the case documents, select the newly generated form along with any other documents you need — for example, a couple of paystubs.

  2. Compile the selected documents.

  3. Name the file and pick a folder: Give the compiled file any name you like and choose the folder it should be saved in.

  4. Use it for your filing: The compiled file is saved to that folder — this is the file you bring into your amendment filing.

Key Details

  • Marking the case as amended applies everywhere. You only need to do it once, in the Bankruptcy Schedules questionnaire.

  • Bulk formatting saves time. Select several items with Shift-click, then apply strikethrough, bold/italic/underline, or omit to all of them in one step.

  • Formatting carries through to the PDF. Always check the generated form to confirm your changes look the way you expect.

  • Omitting doesn't delete. Omitted items stay in the case data — they're just left off the petition, and you can bring them back.

  • Regenerate only what you're amending. Generate PDF works one form at a time, so you can rebuild just the schedules that changed.

FAQ

Q: Do I need to mark each schedule as amended separately?
A: No. Checking "Amended filing" in the Bankruptcy Schedules questionnaire marks the whole case.

Q: What's the difference between strikethrough and omit from petition?
A: Strikethrough keeps the item on the form with a line through it, so the court can see it was removed. Omit from petition leaves the item off the form entirely.

Q: Can I undo an omit?
A: Yes. Omitted items stay in the list and can be shown and included again.

Q: How do I select a range of creditors?
A: Click the first creditor, hold Shift, and click the last one.

Q: How do I know my PDF is done generating?
A: The bell icon on the left spins while the PDF is being generated. When it stops, click the bell to open the new form.

Q: Do I have to regenerate the whole petition?
A: No. Open the preview for just the form you're amending and click Generate PDF.
