Selective Document Download for Amendments

When filing amendments, you often need just a few specific forms — not the entire petition. Glade now lets you select individual documents from your Case Documents pane and download them as a single merged PDF, ready to file.

Overview

Amendments require re-filing only the forms that have changed. Previously, you had to download documents one at a time or download everything. With selective document download, you can check the exact documents you need across all your case folders, then compile them into a single PDF with one click.

This feature is especially useful for attorneys preparing amendment filings for PACER, where you need a specific subset of forms merged into one document.

How It Works

  1. Open your Case Documents: Navigate to your case and press D on your keyboard (or click the documents icon) to open the Case Documents pane.
  2. Select your documents: You'll see a checkbox next to each document. Check the boxes for the forms you want to include in your amendment filing. You can select documents across different category folders.
  3. Review your selection: As you select documents, the footer bar updates to show how many you've chosen — for example, "Download 3 selected as PDF."
  4. Compile and download: Click the "Download N selected as PDF" button. A modal opens where you can:
    • Name your file — give the compiled PDF a descriptive filename
    • Reorder documents — drag documents to arrange them in the order you want them to appear in the final PDF
  5. Download your PDF: Click "Compile and Download PDF" to download your merged document. The PDF is ready to upload to your court filing system.

Key Details

  • Selection is temporary — your checkboxes reset each time you close the Case Documents pane, so there's nothing to clean up
  • Works across folders — you can select documents from any category folder in your case
  • Original download still available — when no documents are selected, the existing "Download all as a PDF" button works as before
  • Deleting a selected document — if you remove a document that was checked, the selection count updates automatically

FAQ

Q: Can I save my document selection for later?
A: Not currently. Selections reset when you close the Case Documents pane. If you need the same set of documents again, you'll need to re-select them.

Q: What file formats are supported?
A: The compile feature merges your documents into a single PDF. All document types stored in your case can be included.

Q: Does this change how the "Download all" button works?
A: No. When no documents are selected, the download buttons at the bottom of the pane work exactly as before. The selective download option only appears when you've checked at least one document.
