How Glade's payment fees work with the Confido Integration

Here's a full breakdown on Glade's payment fees work with the Confido integration

Glade integrates with Confido Legal to collect and route payment to your Trust and Operating accounts.

You have the option to pass payment processing fees on to your client, or take them on yourself. Whichever you choose, here are how those processing fees are handled:

IF YOU DO NOT PASS ON THE FEES (YOU ABSORB THE FEES):

When a client makes a payment, they are not charged a processing fee. They only pay the invoice amount you set.

Because of this:

  • The full payment amount (gross) is deposited into your trust or operating account, depending on what you selected on the invoice template.

  • However, the processing fees still apply—they’re just not deducted from each individual payment.

Instead:

  • Confido totals all processing fees for the entire month.

  • At the end of the month, Confido withdraws the full month’s fees from your operating account (never trust).

What this means for your reporting:

  • The Gross Amount shown in your report is the amount that actually hit your bank account.

  • The Net Amount represents your true revenue after subtracting the processing fee (even though the fee wasn’t deducted at the time of deposit).

  • Because clients did not pay these fees, you must cover the month-end fee withdrawal entirely from your operating account.

IF YOU PASS ON THE FEES:

When a client makes a payment, they are charged a processing fee (a surcharge). Because of this:

  • The full payment amount (gross) is deposited into your trust or operating account, whichever you select on the invoice template.

  • The processing fees are not taken out of each payment.

  • Instead, Confido totals all processing fees for the entire month at the end of the month and then withdraws that amount once from your operating account at the end of the month (never from trust).

This means:

  • The Gross Amount shown in your report is what actually hit your bank account.

  • The Net Amount is what you keep after subtracting the processing fee—this represents the attorney’s real revenue from that payment.

  • Since clients pay these fees at checkout, the collected surcharges help offset (and often fully cover) the month-end bill Confido charges you. So, you must transfer this amount to your operating account to cover the processing fees.
