Connect an External Calendar to Glade
Overview
Link your Google (G Suite) or Microsoft (Outlook) calendar to Glade so your availability stays in sync and clients cannot book when you are unavailable.
This article covers connecting an external calendar from Calendar Accounts in Settings (recommended), an alternate path from a service’s availability settings, and troubleshooting tips.
If your firm uses Microsoft 365 and Outlook connect fails with an IT approval message, or the calendar connects then disappears, see Connecting Outlook calendars for Microsoft 365 firms.
Connect from Calendar Accounts (recommended)
1. Open Calendar Accounts in Settings 0:00
Navigate to Settings in Glade.
Locate and select Calendar Accounts.
This is the starting point for connecting any external calendar.
2. Choose the External Calendar Provider 0:21
Review the available calendar providers.
Select either:
Google Calendar
Outlook Calendar (Microsoft) — for Microsoft 365 org tenants that need IT admin consent or hit connect-then-vanishes issues, follow Connecting Outlook calendars for Microsoft 365 firms.
Choose the provider that matches the account you want to connect.
3. Connect the Selected Calendar 0:29
Click Connect for the chosen calendar provider.
If prompted, complete any authorization or sign-in steps required by the external calendar service.
Confirm the calendar is added successfully before moving on.
4. Verify the Calendar Connection in Calendar View 0:40
After connecting, open the Calendar View.
Confirm the connected calendar appears in the left-hand side panel.
Use this view to verify that the external calendar is now available in Glade.
5. Review Calendar Options and Added Accounts 0:51
Go to Calendar Options if you need to manage settings.
Click on the Calendar Accounts you added to review or confirm the connection.
Use this area to verify which calendars are currently linked.
Alternate path: connect from a service’s availability
You can also start the connection from a service’s availability settings:
From your Glade home dashboard, click the Connect Calendar button (if shown), or open the service you want to sync (for example, Initial Intake Consultation).
Click Availability.
Find the row with your name, click the three-dot action button (⋮), and select Edit Availability.
Choose to connect your Google (G Suite) or Microsoft (Outlook) calendar and follow the prompts to authorize access.
Cautionary Notes
Ensure you are logged into the correct Glade account before connecting a calendar.
If the calendar is already connected, avoid reconnecting unless troubleshooting or updating access.
Make sure you select the correct provider (Google vs. Outlook) to prevent linking the wrong account.
Troubleshooting Tips
Grant full permission when authorizing the calendar so your availability can be read correctly.
If you have multiple calendars in your account, double-check that the correct one is selected.
After connecting, test by attempting a booking to confirm that unavailable times are properly blocked.
Confirm your external calendar credentials are ready before starting, and use Calendar View immediately after connecting to verify success.
Keep track of which calendars are connected to avoid duplicate or unnecessary connections.
Microsoft 365 / Outlook: If you see “approval required from your IT administrator,” or the calendar connects then silently disappears, follow Connecting Outlook calendars for Microsoft 365 firms (tenant admin consent + removing
prompt=consentfrom the login URL).
