How to Void an Invoice (Glade 2.0)
Use this when an invoice is no longer needed, or when you need to issue a new one in its place. Voiding an invoice is a permanent action and should only be done when necessary.
Overview
Voiding cancels an invoice and sets it to a final state — if a payment plan is linked to it, that gets cancelled too, so voiding takes care of everything in one step.
Voiding is not reversible: once an invoice is voided, it cannot be paid. Because of this, voiding shouldn't be treated as a routine action — only use it when the invoice truly needs to be cancelled or replaced.
How It Works
Locate the client's workflow: Search for the client's workflow and open the correct record. Confirm you're in the right client account before making any changes.
Locate the Invoices section: On the client's dashboard, click the tile showing Total remaining balance to open the Invoices section, then review the list to identify the invoice you need to void.
Open the invoice: Click the invoice to open its full details, and double-check it's the correct one — this action can't be reversed.
Access More Actions: Click the three-dot More Actions button on the top right and select Void Invoice.
Confirm: Read the warning prompt carefully — it confirms the invoice will be permanently voided and cannot be paid. Click Void Invoice to finalize.
Key Details
Voiding is permanent and cannot be undone.
A voided invoice cannot be paid.
If the invoice has a linked payment plan, that plan is cancelled at the same time.
Double-check the client workflow and invoice before confirming — there's no way to reverse this once done.
FAQ
Q: Can I undo voiding an invoice?
A: No. Voiding is a final, irreversible action.
Q: What happens to a payment plan linked to a voided invoice?
A: It's cancelled automatically along with the invoice.
Q: Can I issue a new invoice after voiding one?
A: Yes — voiding is often used specifically to clear out the old invoice so a new one can be issued in its place.
