How to Update Document Checklists (Glade 2.0)
How to update document checklists
Overview
Document checklist templates define the files you request from a client in a workflow. You can edit the template itself (which applies to every future case that uses it), or customize the checklist for one specific case without affecting the template.
Reference videos (original UI — some navigation has changed)
These were recorded on the previous UI. See Keyboard Shortcuts & Navigation Changes in Glade 2.0 for the full list of what's changed — in short, "F" no longer works (use the Services & modules icon or press "M"), while "S" still works and now goes directly to Services & Workflows. The rest of the editing behavior shown in these videos is otherwise unchanged.
Edit the template — Method 1: Modules
Click the Services & modules icon in the left sidebar, or press "M".
Select Modules ("The building blocks of your firm").
Select Document Requests ("Reusable templates for the documents you commonly request from clients").
Choose the checklist you want to edit from the list (e.g. Chapter 13 - Client Document Checklist, Chapter 7 - Client Document Checklist, Trustee Documents, Income Organizer, etc.).
Under Requested documents, each item has its own row controls on the right: a drag handle (⠿) to reorder, a pencil icon to edit the title and description, and a trash icon to remove that document from the template.
Click the pencil icon on any document to change its name or description, or adjust whether it's marked Required.
Click Add requested document at the top of the list to add a new document to the template.
Use the Edit button near the top-right of the checklist page for the checklist's own title/settings, or Archive to retire the entire template.
Changes save automatically as you make them — there is no separate template-level Save button on this screen.
Edit the template — Method 2: Services & Workflows
Press "S" on your keyboard, or click the Services & modules icon in the left sidebar and select Services & Workflows ("The services you offer and their workflows").
Choose the relevant service (e.g. Bankruptcy Matter) and then the relevant workflow (e.g. Ch. 7 or Ch. 13).
Inside the workflow, find the step containing the document checklist and click it to open the checklist.
Make your edits using the same row controls described in Method 1 (pencil to edit, trash to remove, drag handle to reorder).
Edit the checklist for a single case
Editing the template changes things for every future case. If you only need to adjust the checklist for the client you're currently working with, you can customize it on that case without touching the template.
⚠️ Needs verification: The screenshot confirmed so far shows the template view (via Document Requests), which uses pencil/trash icons rather than an "Actions" menu. It has not yet been confirmed whether a case's own checklist view (opened from within an active case, not from Document Requests) uses the same pencil/trash icons or a different control. Please confirm before publishing.
Open the client's document checklist on their case (not the template — this is the checklist as it appears inside an active case).
[Unconfirmed] Use the same pencil/trash row controls as the template view, or a different control if the case view differs — to be confirmed.
Rename the document or edit its description as needed for this case.
Mark a document as required if it isn't already — the client won't be able to submit the checklist until every required document has been uploaded.
Remove any documents that don't apply to this particular client.
Notes & tips
See Keyboard Shortcuts & Navigation Changes in Glade 2.0 for the full list of what's changed across the whole product, not just document checklists.
Best practice: confirm with the client in advance which documents actually need to be collected before customizing a checklist on their case, so the required list stays accurate.
Template edits apply going forward only — they don't retroactively change checklists on cases that were already created from that template.
