Highlighted Modules

Updated by Marcus

Highlighted Modules let you surface a case's most important modules — like Bankruptcy Schedules or the Client Questionnaire — right at the top of the case summary, so your team can jump to them without scrolling through the steps timeline.

Overview

Every case runs through a series of steps, and each step can contain several modules (questionnaires, document checklists, invoices, and more). On a busy case, the modules your team touches most often can be buried in the timeline.

Highlighted Modules fix that. When you mark a module as highlighted in the workflow editor, it appears in a dedicated Highlights group near the top of the case summary once that module's step has run — giving everyone working the case one-click access to the things that matter most.

How It Works

  1. Open the workflow editor and select the workflow you want to edit.
  2. Find the module you want to highlight within its step.
  3. Turn on the "Pin module" switch in that module's configuration. This marks the module to appear in Highlights.
  4. Publish your changes. The workflow is now set up to highlight that module on future cases.
  5. Open a case running the updated workflow. Once the highlighted module's step has been sent, the module shows up in the Highlights group in the case summary — displayed as a compact row with its icon and title.
  6. Click the highlighted module to open it, exactly the way you would from its card in the steps timeline.

Key Details

  • Where Highlights appears: In the case summary panel, grouped just below Invoices and Bookings and above the Overview.
  • Highlights only shows what's been sent: A highlighted module appears only after its step has run on the case. If nothing highlighted has been sent yet, the Highlights group is hidden entirely.
  • Applies to new cases: Highlighting a module affects cases started after you publish the change. Cases already in progress keep the workflow version they started on and won't retroactively show new Highlights.
  • Any module type can be highlighted: The "Pin module" switch is available on every module type in the editor.
  • Live updates: The case summary keeps Highlights in sync automatically as steps run — no refresh needed.

FAQ

Q: I highlighted a module but it isn't showing on a case. Why?
A: Two common reasons: the module's step hasn't been sent yet on that case (Highlights only shows modules whose step has run), or the case was already in progress before you published the change. Highlighting applies to cases started after publishing.

Q: What's the difference between "Pin module" and "Highlights"?
A: They're two sides of the same feature. "Pin module" is the switch you turn on in the workflow editor to mark a module. "Highlights" is the group in the case summary where those marked modules appear.

Q: Does highlighting change how the module works?
A: No. It only adds a quick-access shortcut in the case summary. The module behaves exactly as it does in the steps timeline — clicking a highlighted module opens the same view.

Q: Can I highlight more than one module?
A: Yes. Highlight as many modules as you like; each one appears as its own row in the Highlights group once its step has run.
